Actor chartOmotola Jalade Ekeinde is a Nigerian Actress and Singer (born February 7 1978). She has received an African Movie Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actress (2005), Screen Nation Award for Favourite West Africa Actress (2011), Ghana Movie Award for Best Actress, African Collaboration (2011) and several other awards.. Omotola made her acting debut with Venom Of Justice(1995), But the movie that put her on the map was Mortal Inheritance(1995) alongside Fred Amata. The movie which received good reviews, won her awards for her role. She has since then starred in several Nollywood blockbusters like Scores To Settle(1998), Games Women Play(2005), Blood Sisters(2003), I Belong(2003), My Story(2008) and a Host of others. In 2005, when she was banned from acting alongside some other Nollywood Actors, for collecting huge amount of money from producers to feature in movies, she launched her musical career and released her first Album title Gba. In 2010, she launched her second album titled Me, Myself and Eyes. She is set to release her third Album. Omotola has returned to filming since the ban and has starred in critically acclaimed movie, Ije: The Journey(2010) which she received a nomination at the Nigeria Entertainment Award (NEA) 2011 for Best Actress. She also starred in A Private Storm(2011) which also gave her nomination for Best Actress at the Nollywood Movies Award(NMA) 2012. She starred in critically acclaimed Ghanian Movie Ties That Bind(2011) along side Kimberly Elise and Ama K. Abebrese and received an award for her performance, Best Actress(LEAD), African Collaboration, at the Ghana Movies Award 2011. She was also nominated at the African Movie Academy Awards(Best Supporting Actress) for her performance in the movie. Apart from Acting and Singing, She's also a Social Activist and is noted for her works with Widows and Children. She has an NGO called Omotola Youths Empowerment Program(OYEP). She is also a United Nations Ambassador and an Amnesty International Activist.
