  • Job description

    Starcount is a new breed of consultancy blending proprietary technology and machine learning with a deep expertise and pedigree in data-based insights. We’re creating a SaaS platform that interprets complex data and tells stories about customer passions and behaviour.

    Reporting to the Head of Data Science Engineering, we’re looking for a Data Engineer to push boundaries with what is possible with our data.

    The right person will design, develop and automate a data pipeline that will collect data from numerous transactional, social media and geographical data sets as we build the next generation of our product.

    Responsibilities

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Apply systems architecture and software design skills in the development of data pipelines on Hadoop, PostgreSQL and Spark
    • Design and develop new algorithms for extracting insight from social data using SQL and Python
    • Develop crawlers to extract data from the web or APIs
    • Build infrastructure around existing internal tools to enhance capabilities and improve data flow.
    • Implement statistical models and algorithms including clustering on large scale graph data
    • Deploy to, work on and manage AWS especially EMR and S3.
    • Accurately estimate solutions and time against project priorities, deadlines and deliverables

  • Job description

    This is a leadership role in which you will drive new business revenue growth and adoption of Starcount’s Insight platform with new clients.

    The New Business Sales Manager will sell our growing stable of software products, including passion and geographical-based insight technology, into major UK and global brands

    You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities for software licence deals, owning the entire sales lifecycle, from opportunity creation, prospect, qualification, discovery, to close.

    Responsibilities

    To be successful, candidates will need to demonstrate capability against the following:

    Evidence of identifying new business sales opportunities, understanding key contacts, incumbent technology partners and key business challenges at new accounts.

    Understanding and developing a value proposition for new clients, territories and markets

    Creating a sales strategy, specifically identifying key sectors, available markets and develop prospecting campaigns to target likely potential wins

    Recommending new and competitive pricing and charging models and propositions

    Providing support, resources and advice to existing teams in the maximisation and development of business within the existing client portfolio

    Guiding the evolution of our software products and the development of new client solutions

    Building a case study portfolio with quality reference sites to drive further opportunities

    Evidence of working collaboratively as a member of a larger team, able to secure the confidence of, and to build strong working relationships with colleagues
