Edwina Dunn OBE at Web Summit 2019

Starcount CEO, Edwina Dunn OBE will be a keynote speaker Web Summit 2019 which has been described by Forbes as “the best tech conference on the planet”. From the 4th – 7th of November, over 700,000 people will attend the Altice Arena in Lisbon, Portugal from more than 159 countries with 1,200 different speakers. 

Edwina will be speaking alongside founders and CEOs of technology companies, fast-growing startups, policymakers and heads of state. The Summit’s main aim is to answer the question: where to next? Thousands of innovators will provide the answers and lay down the roadmap for the future of data and technology. 

Edwina’s talk “Knowing your customers: easy to say, so hard to do!” will cover:

• Why it’s vital to understand what drives consumers outside of just what they purchase and how this drives long term loyalty  
• The main factors shaping the industry’s future, specifically the ethics surrounding data ownership and customer rights to privacy.
• The current opportunities within the industry, namely the benefits of combining data across company walls and the potential to collaborate and build vast, open-source databases.
• The importance of identifying and adapting to emerging trends.

She will also be on the panel discussing “The commercial value of brand principles in 2019”. This talk will delve deeper into some of the environmental and sustainability issues that cloud the industry of today. From the climate crisis to fairtrade, consumers today demand ultimate transparency from their brands. The panel will explore the growing business advantage of being seen with a clear understanding of the impact your company is having on the world. Are tags like sustainability now the ultimate selling point?
