Rowdy Rathore

Rowdy Rathore is a 2012 Indian action film directed by Prabhu Deva and produced by Rajat Rawail, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ronnie Screwvala. The film features Akshay Kumar in double roles opposite Sonakshi Sinha and Paresh Ganatra,Yashpal Sharma,Gurdeep Kohli in supporting role while Tamil actor Nassar as antagonist. It is a remake of the Telugu film Vikramarkudu which was later remade in Tamil as Siruthai and which had been dubbed into Malayalam as Vikramathithya, Bhojpuri as Vikram Singh Rathod IPS, Kannada as Veera Madakari, and Hindi as Pratighat. It marks the return of Akshay Kumar in the action genre after 7 years. The film was shot mainly in the state of Karnataka at various locations including UNESCO World heritage sites where it has run into trouble while shooting in Hampi after activists said the minimum number of crew had not been used. It received mixed response from critics, whilst opening to strong box office collections and became a major commercial success with a worldwide gross of File:Indian Rupee symbol. svg201 crore. Boxofficeindia declared the film as a Blockbuster. Rowdy Rathore has since emerged as one of the highest grossing films of all time in Bollywood.
