The Bulls, for sponsorship reasons known as the Vodacom Bulls, are a South African rugby union team competing in the Super Rugby competition. They are based in Pretoria and play their home matches at Loftus Versfeld. Prior to 1998, the Bulls competed in the then-Super 12 as the Blue Bulls, as in those years South Africa was represented in the Super 12 by its top four Currie Cup sides instead of the modern Super Rugby-specific teams. The current team captain is Pierre Spies and coach is Frans Ludeke. The side won the Super 14 in 2007, 2009 and 2010, placing them among the most successful teams in the Super Rugby history with three titles, a number shared with the Blues of Auckland, New Zealand. They were the most successful team of the Super 14 era (2006 - 2010), winning three out of the five titles.
