Biography

Armada Music is a Dutch record label that specializes in releasing electronic dance music, co-founded by Armin van Buuren. Armada Music is an independent Dutch record company and was founded in June 2003 by Armin Van Buuren, Maykel Piron and David Lewis. "Armada" was formed from the first two letters in each of the founding members' names. In 2013, Armada Music celebrates its ten year anniversary. In 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012, Armada Music won the ‘Best Global Dance Label’ title, as awarded by the International Dance Music Awards. The approach to combining everything music related in one company has attracted several top names to the label such as; Chicane, Matt Darey, York, Roger Shah, Paul Oakenfold, Paul van Dyk, Markus Schulz, Dash Berlin, BT, Andy Moor, Gabriel & Dresden & Max Graham, who are all responsible for the A&R activities of their own label within Armada Music, while van Buuren himself deals with A&R activities for the Armada labels 'Armind' and 'A State of Trance'. Armada Music has more than 25 different sub-labels representing many different types of electronic music.
